Day 1: Marrakech - High Atlas - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Skoura - Valley of Roses - Dades of Dades
Pick up at your hotel in Marrakech and start your journey towards the green Dades Valley. We will cross the High Atlas and its summit Tizi-N-Tichka, with 2,260 meters of altitude. Mountain landscapes and Berber villages, absolutely fantastic contrasts.
We will arrive in Ouarzazate, famous for the number of films shot in their studios. We will visit the kasbah of Taourirt, residence of the last Pacha of Marrakech. Then we will go to the palm grove of Skoura and the city of roses Kelaa Mgouna, after passing numerous Berber villages to reach the Dades Gorges, where we will spend the night.
Day 2: Dades of the Dades - Gorges of the Togdra - Erfoud - Merzouga
We will continue our route through Tinghir, the Dades Valley and the Todra Gorges. For lunch we will stop at a restaurant located in the heart of the canyons 300 meters high, with the possibility of walking for an hour inside the valley for those who are interested in hiking.
In the afternoon, we will leave for Erfoud, via Tinejdad, with its old underground irrigation system, and we will be able to discover the fossils and the places where they are extracted before reaching the dunes of Merzouga in Erg Chebbi. After a break of 15 minutes, we will ride the dromedaries to go directly to the oasis where you can enjoy the night with traditional dinner and entertainment
Day 3: Merzouga - Rissani - Tazzarine - Zagora - Tamegroute - Tagounite
After an unforgettable night, you will wake up among the calm of the dunes in the land of nomads, you will be able to admire the sunrise in the desert and after a typical breakfast, you will return with the camels to the lodge. There your driver will be waiting for you, after a refreshing shower, you will leave for Rissani where you will visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif and the palm grove as part of the ecotourism experience in the region. Lunch will be in Tazzarine. Then we will continue through the Drâa Valley to Tagounite. We will pass through Zagora and Tamegroute where its Koranic Library and its pottery workshops characteristic of the region stand out.
We arrive at Tagounite, penultimate town before the desert, where they will welcome us with a welcome thé. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 4: Tagounite - Kasbahs of Tagounite - M'Hamid - Erg Lihoudi
In the morning, we will have breakfast among palm trees and visit the ancient Kasbahs of Tagounite, a walk through time. We will return to Camping les Palmeraies where we will eat, and after lunch we will start our trip to the desert.
We will pick up the 4x4 to move to the bivouac of Erg Lihoudi, first Saharan dunes. We will taste the flavors of the desert at our dinner. Accommodation in a traditional nomadic haima.
Day 5: Erg Lihoudi- Sacred Oasis - Erg Chegaga
Already in the morning after seeing the sunrise, we will have breakfast among dunes and we will prepare ourselves for start our trip to Erg chegaga ..
We will pick up the 4x4 and leave for Erg Chegaga, the Great Dunes. They are about 95 kms (about three hours of travel) per track crossing the desert: hammadas, small dunes ..
We pass through various hammadas or stony deserts where we can find some fragment of meteorite or fossil. (You can do parads for photos, etc.)
We will arrive at the Sacred Oasis, a succession of palm trees where a stream of water runs throughout the year and where the nomads take their flocks to water.
Possibly in our journey we find a family of nomads willing to chat and share a glass of tea. After crossing several ouad, we arrive at Erg Chegaga, the sea of sand, dunes of 300 meters high and 40 km long, will not leave the traveler impassive.
We will enjoy the sunset, and a great evening where dinner will be enlivened by the music of the desert. We will sleep in a traditional nomadic haima.
Day 6: Erg Chegaga - Foum Z Guid - Tazenakht - Talioune - Taroudant
After desyunar between the dunes, we will continue our journey through the Iriki Lake, which in the rainy season periods of the year carries water, and is bordered by cords of dunes, the landscape is absolutely fantastic.
We arrived at Foum Zguid, old military post. We continue to Tazenakht, important center of Ouzguda weave fabric, characteristic for its orange pattern. This track was an old section of the famous Paris-Dakar rally.
Throughout this area came numerous hunting parties with hawks that once practiced the Saudis, as indicated by some adobe ruins that still exist.
We continue through Talioune, a small village located 119 kms from Taroudant. In Talioune there are some of the most beautiful geological folds in Morocco at an altitude of 1180 meters.
All the saffron of the country comes from this town, where it is picked with all the delicacy at hand. Saffron powder is used as a food condiment and as a product in the pharmacopoeia, it is an antispasmodic. We arrive at Taroudant. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 7: Taroudant - Via Tizi-N-Test - Ijoukak- Ouirgane- Asni- Tahanaoute - Marrakech
In the morning after breakfast we will depart to Marrakech by the Tizi-N-Test route, one of the most beautiful mountain routes in Morocco. We pass through Ijoukak, remarkable in this area the many kasbahs that belonged to the Gundafa, a powerful tribe that controlled the mountain pass and all the region in the nineteenth century. About 60 kms from Marrakech is Ouirgane, where saline is still exploited in the middle of a mountain landscape.
We continue through Asni, Berber village, at 1,150 meters high and at the foot of the Toubkal, the highest peak in Morocco with a height of 4,165 meters.
