Day 1: Marrakech - High Atlas- Telouelt - Ait Ben Haddou- Ouarzazate
Pick up at your hotel in Marrakech and start your trip to the Great South.
We will cross the High Atlas, which is the highest and most extensive mountain range in Morocco, crowned by the Tizi-N-Tichka summit at 2260 meters of altitude. This route is also known as the Route of the Pastures. Impressive mountain landscapes. We will make several stops.
We will cross the High Atlas Via Telouelt, with some stops in the pleasant Berber villages, visit the Kasbah of Telouet and have lunch there. After lunch, departure to Ait Benhaddou, one of the best preserved and most spectacular kasbahs in Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A place famous for the films shot there, as is the Gladiator case. Arrival in Ouarzazate. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 2: Ouarzazate -Skoura - Valley of Roses - Kella Mgouna- Gorges of Dades
After breakfast, departure to the incredible palm groves of Skoura in the Dades Valley, one of the most beautiful areas of Morocco. On the way we will cross the Valley of Roses, where we will stop for lunch. In the afternoon we will continue the route to the Todra Garganta where we can enjoy an hour of hiking through spectacular landscapes. Accommodation and dinner at Dadès.
Day 3: Dadès Gorges - Toghra Gorges- Sahgro Mountains - Drâa Valley - Zagora - Tamegroute -Tagounite
After breakfast, we will see the area in the direction of the volcanic mountains of Sarhro. We will also cross the road of Tizni Tazazart, a spectacular track with incredible rock formations and ravines with unparalleled views. Then we will continue our journey through the Draa Valley bordered by 200 kms of palm trees that make this route one of the most beautiful in Morocco and numerous Berber villages of adobe.
We will pass through Zagora, visiting Tamegroute, an old religious center famous for its Koranic Library and its open-air pottery workshops.
We arrive at Tagounite, penultimate village before the desert, we will arrive at Tagounite, at Camping Les Palmeraies located in a palm grove, where we will be welcomed with the refreshing thé of welcome, we will have a typical dish of Moroccan gastronomy and we will sleep in a traditional Maison D´Hotes.
Day 4: Tagounite - Kasbahs of Tagounite - M'Hamid - Erg Lihoudi
In the morning, we will have breakfast among palm trees and visit the ancient Kasbahs of Tagounite, a walk through time. We will return to Camping les Palmeraies where we will eat, and after lunch we will start our trip to the desert.
We will pick up the 4x4 to move to the bivouac of Erg Lihoudi, first Saharan dunes. We will do a dromedary tour watching the sunset.
We will taste the flavors of the desert at our dinner. Accommodation.
Day 5: Erg Lihoudi - Sacred Oasis - Great Dunes of Chegaga
In the morning after seeing the sunrise, we will have breakfast among the dunes and prepare to start our trip to Erg chegaga ..
We will pick up the 4x4 and leave for Erg Chegaga, the Great Dunes. They are about 95 kms (about three hours of travel) per track crossing the desert: hammadas, small dunes ..
We pass through various hammadas or stony deserts where we can find some fragment of meteorite or fossil. (Parads can be made for photos, etc.) We will arrive at the Sacred Oasis, a succession of palm trees where a stream of water runs throughout the year and where the nomads take their flocks to water.
Possibly in our journey we find a family of nomads willing to chat and share a glass of tea.
After crossing several ouad, we arrive at Erg Chegaga, the sea of sand, dunes of 300 meters high and 40 km long, will not leave the traveler impassive.
We will enjoy the sunset, and a great evening where dinner will be enlivened by the music of the desert. Accommodation.
Day 6: Erg Chegaga-Lake Iriki-Foum Z Guid-Tazenakht-High Atlas-Marrakech
In the morning, and after catching a glimpse of the sunrise and breakfast between the dunes, we continue our journey to Marrakech. Passing through Lake Iriki, which in the rainy season carries water in some periods of the year, and is bordered by dune strings, the landscape is absolutely fantastic.
We arrived at Foum Zguid, old military post. We continue to Tazenakht, important center of Ouzguda weave fabric, characteristic for its orange pattern. This track was an old section of the famous Paris-Dakar rally.
Throughout this area came numerous hunting parties with hawks that once practiced the Saudis, as indicated by some adobe ruins that still exist.
We continue our way to Ouarzazate, to end the trip in Marrakech. End of our services.
